ABOUT US

Necessary Nannies and Caregivers is a Treasure Valley family-owned business founded by Karla and Verlyn Brower.  They have been Meridian residents for fifteen years and have been married for twenty-nine years.  As the parents of three young adults, they understand first-hand the joys and challenges of parenthood and can sincerely identify with the needs of active, caring families in our community.  In February of 2008, they were present for the arrival of their first grandchild, a beautiful little girl!

Karla directs the daily operations of Necessary Nannies.  Prior to establishing Necessary Nannies, she directed a Boise-based caregiver agency where she hired, trained, placed, and supervised a staff of fifty caregivers serving the needs of senior and child clients in our community.  During these years, she also directed a moving service which offered personalized relocation for individuals throughout the Treasure Valley.   

Together, Verlyn and Karla have traveled extensively to South America, Europe, and Asia.  With their young family, they lived for a time in Venezuela and Albania (Eastern Europe) working with a non-profit humanitarian organization.  Some of their memories include traveling in a dugout canoe down a jungle river in South Venezuela, providing help to Albanian families after the end of communism in Eastern Europe, and teaching English in a village school near the Thai/Burmese Border.

Verlyn and Karla are active members of the Meridian community.  Verlyn works with the Meridian Fire Department as a chaplain and a part-time firefighter. Karla enjoys art, gardening, cooking, and volunteering for Meridian Fire Department and Paramount Community children’s events.  Together they enjoy spending time with their family and granddaughter and exploring the Idaho outdoors. They are also members of the Boise Vineyard where they have served on a team devoted to strengthening marriages in our community.
